Y V Rao Siddhartha College of education was established in the year 1984 to provide a pre-service training at secondary level (B.Ed Course) in vijayawada.

it was inagurated by prof.K.Rama Mohan Rao , the Vice-Chancellor of Acharya Nagarjuna University on 23rd January ,1984.w

The inagural function of the mew college building was presided over by the ice President of Siddartha Academy of General and Technical Education Sri Garapati Venkateswara Rao , Hon'ble Minister of secondary School Education - A.P - Sri Deveneni Venkata Ramana inagurated the new building.

The College was renamed as Y.V.Rao Siddhartha College Of Education on 10-02-2000.
